The three masterpieces created originate from ingenious thought, perseverance, and time. They are intended to give the viewers a euphoric and mystical experience with nature in an urbanized street setting. All of these acrylic paintings share common themes, such as ambient streets heading into nothingness, nature, and light of some kind. The first painting consists of a road angled towards the right, lamp posts, greenery encircling buildings, and an inviting colour palette. The tiles on the building rooftop and the lights coming from the windows are the highlights of this picture. The second painting incorporates an eerie, gray monochromatic street in Paris. Lastly, the third painting is composed of a marble street, buildings, a puddle, and a warm colour scheme. Despite being the most difficult to paint, the marble street had the finest appearance. All three canvases aim to give the audience a cozy vibe that entices them to delve deep into the paintings and wonder what it would feel like to be there. The main media used was acrylic paint.
The inspiration references were from Pinterest. Given that I am a person who values and is passionate about non-fiction fantasy literature, these photos were ideal. The magical, eerie yet serene, and inviting aura of the photos made me choose them. My initial thought was about how it would feel to be there amongst the soft glowing lights and endless roads. My paintings gave me a sense of comfort, and I hope that they will do the same for others.
I had to overcome challenges while painting just like any other artist. My biggest obstacle was getting all the tiny details in. My references consisted of extremely crisp lines. Therefore, they were difficult to paint, but I managed to conquer that challenge with the help of a thin brush and patience. Colour matching was one more small challenge I had to overcome. Finding the perfect shade and tone for colour matching is nearly impossible, which makes it frustrating. I was able to acquire the shade I wanted after making numerous tries to blend different colours together. Even with these challenges and time constraints, I am satisfied with what I have accomplished over two months.
Through my journey of this independent project, I have come to realize that patience is the key to success. I discovered how frustrating it was to make mistakes because it would take an excruciating amount of patience and time to fix them. However, as they say, you learn from your mistakes, and that is what happened to me. I actually ended up improving the sections that I had unintentionally messed up on.
